As a dental/dental hygiene collegiate educator, you know the importance of addressing tobacco-use in the dental health curriculum. A major barrier to providing this curriculum is TIME - or lack of it - to research and develop a comprehensive tobacco control curriculum.

Tobacco Free! Curriculum © Davis 2004-2006, formerly Leading the Way, Helping Our Patients be Tobacco Free has been carefully researched and developed to provide dental/dental hygiene educators with a ready made, comprehensive tobacco control curriculum.

The curriculum includes:

  1. Faculty Curriculum Guide
  2. Six training modules with talking notes
  3. Toolbox
These components can be downloaded from this site at NO CHARGE.

Getting Started
  • You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader V 7 installed on your computer in order to download the Faculty Curriculum Guide and Talking Notes. The Toolbox is in Word format but does have a few documents in Adobe Acrobat as well.

  • Before you can download the curriculum, you must REGISTER. A username and password will be emailed to you a few days after you register. You will need to LOGIN each time you access the curriculum.

As this material is used, please remember - the expressed intent of this curriculum is for academic/classroom purposes only and is not to be used for personal or private use and cannot be used as a continuing education program or for non-academic purposes.

Finally, an important part of any educational project is the inclusion of an evaluation component. The only condition for use of this curriculum is an agreement to respond to periodic surveys on how the curriculum is being used and suggestions for improvement. This will enable the developer to continue to provide a quality curriculum.

Best Wishes!
