Dr. Perkins graduated from the University of Iowa School of Medicine in 1970. After serving his internship at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona and two years
as a Navy physician, he worked in Family Practice and Emergency Medicine until joining the Medical Staff of the Student Health Center in September, 1982.
He has been the Chief of Sports Medicine and team physician for Intercollegiate Athletics since that time and served as Medical Chief of Staff from 1996-2004.
He is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Sports Medicine.
