Who can use the Student Emergency Dental Service?
This service is available to currently enrolled SIUC students. Spouses who have purchased the on-campus health benefit may be treated for emergency dental concerns or urgent problems.

How much does it cost?
A $6.00 front door fee for each visit is charged to your bursar account. No additional fee is made for the evaluation of a specific dental concern, an emergency exam, an X-ray for emergency diagnosis, or palliative care. If you desire any other services, the fee will be discussed with you and billed to your bursar account based on the type of service chosen. Spouses must pay the $6.00 front door fee by cash or check before being seen and can only be treated for emergency dental concerns or urgent problems.

How can I make an appointment?
Appointments can be made by calling 536-2421. Clinic hours are 8a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments for urgent care are made one day in advance. If you feel you cannot wait a day for an appointment you may come to the clinic during the hours of 8-10 a.m. or 1-3 p.m. We will take care of you as quickly as possible, but please understand walk-ins are worked into the existing schedule.

How can I get a Routine (non-emergency) dental appointment?
Routine care appointments can be made in advance by calling the above number or visiting our reception desk. After a comprehensive treatment plan has been developed you will have a good idea of the number of appointments and cost it will take to complete your dental care.
