Heavy alcohol and other drug use often leads to academic failure and can have an overall negative impact on a student’s ability to complete his or her degree. The misuse of alcohol and other drugs creates second-hand problems for other students and contributes to campus-wide safety concerns. The Wellness Center offers comprehensive clinical services for students. Licensed staff provide individual and group counseling and consultative services for students affected by their own substance use. Individual and group therapy is also available to students who are adversely effected by another’s substance abuse. The program helps students who may be burdened by emotional, relational, or adjustment issues develop healthy alternatives to substance abuse. Alcohol and Drug counselors are available by appointment at the Wellness Center located on the first floor of the Student Health Center.
