Intimate partner violence and sexual assault threaten college students who continue to be involved as both perpetrators and victims. Females continue to be targets of most sexual assaults, which are frequently perpetrated by individuals they know. Different studies estimate that approximately 15 to 20 percent of female college students have experienced forced intercourse. The Wellness Center provides individual counseling, support groups, psycho-educational and therapeutic workshops on topics concerning date rape, domestic violence, stalking and other safety concerns. Counselors are available by appointment at the Wellness Center located on the first floor of the Student Health Center.
