Campus Ministries Covenant  
   
The Campus Ministries for SIUC believe in and affirm the presence of God working among us as a people. With an awareness of the diverse religious and cultural traditions existing among us, we are committed to all efforts unifying the People of God with loving concern for one another. We celebrate this divresity in unity because it reflects the rich variety of God's revelation throughout history.

We see the University as a unique and varied setting for the development of personal growth and religious commitment. We feel called to share with all participants in the University Community in a joint search for truth and spiritual meaning in life.

  
 
Therefore, we embrace the following goals:
  
   
1. To encourage religious and personal growth in the academic environment;

2. To provide for friendship, fellowship, mutual encouragement and support of the campus ministersin their respective ministries;

3. To facilitate open, honest and meaningful discussion of relevant religious issues and concerns among the representatives of our member ministries;

4. To provide for our unified expression and action while respecting our diverse religious convictions and commitments;

5. To build and maintain communication and structures of cooperation with the University through its appropriate offices;

6. To initiate,sponsore,coordinate and implement programs for the spiritual growth of the University Community;

7. To explore new opportunities and develop new approaches for the relevant expression and practice of religion in the life of the University Community.
