Leadership Council
Offers opportunities for new freshmen, through their graduation , to participate in a leadership education and development program specially designed to enhance their skills as citizen-scholars. All incoming, first-year SIUC students (freshmen or transfer) are eligible to apply for membership into the Leadership Council program. Selection to the program will be competitive, based on grade point average, ACT scores, and involvement.
Benefits of Participation
• $300 Book Scholarship ($150 per semester)
• Recognition Reception during Saluki Family Weekend and at the All-Campus Leadership Awards Program
• Participation in SIUC Campus-Wide Leadership Conference, Leadership Development Training Retreats and Programs.
• Recognition on a Student Involvement Transcript
• Certificate of Participation
• Special Announcements of Involvement Opportunities
Requirements of Participation
• Participation in at least one Leadership Conference
• Participation in at least one service project with the Council
• Participation in at least one Registered Student Organization
• Meet one on one with the Leadership Council Advisor
• Attend monthly meetings of the Council
• Write an essay on your philosophy and goals for being a citizen-scholar & student leader
