Perfect Interview - Mock Interview

Mock Interviews:
A Mock Interview is a simulation of an interview conducted by a Career Services Staff member. The student will be interviewed based on a previously compiled list of interview questions that are major-specific and behavior-based. Immediately following the interview, the student will receive feedback on their interview skills. These interview sessions are recorded onto a mini DVD and made available for students to buy for further review. For a Mock Interview a mini DVD will be provided, but there will be a charge of $5.00 for the mini DVD. Students may bring in their own mini DVD and use it for the interview.

Perfect Interview:
Perfect Interview™ is a computer simulated virtual interview experience recorded via webcam and transferred onto CD. When participating in a “Perfect Interview™” session, the student will be in greater control of the questions asked during the interview. The advantages of Perfect Interview™ are three-fold. First, the student may answer an interview question multiple times; second, review of answers is immediate; and third, a tutorial is available which provides an explanation of the interview question and the purpose behind asking that type of question. For a Perfect Interview students will need to bring in their own CD in order to save the interview.

Both of these services require the student dress professionally, arrive 15 minutes early for the appointment, and bring two copies of their resume.

Career Services offers you the opportunity to practice your interview skills. These sessions replicate a true interview and should be treated as such. Sessions last approximately one hour and include both a practice interview and a critique of the interview skills you demonstrate.

As an Interviewee, you are expected to
  1. come prepared to answer behavioral interview questions
  2. dress appropriately
  3. bring 2 copies of your resume to the interview
  4. arrive 15 minutes prior to interview
  5. have questions prepared for the interviewer
Your session will be recorded and reviewed during the one hour time slot so that your body language, grammar, etc. may be evaluated.
