Graduate assistantships in the Cooperative Wildlife Research Laboratory can be available at any time of year (fall, spring, summer) depending on project funding. All graduate students in the Lab are on funded projects, with 90-95% on competitive research assistantships. The remaining students are supported on fellowships or teaching assistantships. If you are interested in graduate work in the Lab, please contact one of the Lab faculty researchers whose contact information can be found in this website. Hopefully, one or more of the researchers has areas of research interest that overlap with yours. Direct communication with a faculty member is very important, and can help you in the competitive process of obtaining a graduate position.

Lab researchers commonly advertise research assistantships on websites such as the Texas A&M Jobs Board (http://wfscnet.tamu.edu/jobboard/index.htm).
Graduate students working on projects in the Lab are enrolled in the Graduate Program in Zoology, which is housed in the Department of Zoology. For information about the academic side of this program and for application information, visit http://www.science.siu.edu/zoology/graduateprog.html
