International Dialogue on Faith: from BOTH women’s and men’s perspectives

We have a request for an International Dialogue on Faith: A Woman’s Perspective presentation for the evening of April 1st at a community college in Paducah, Kentucky. This is a unique panel presentation designed to promote understanding of world faiths and encourage discussion of women’s roles as defined by their various beliefs. If you are interested in participating on the panel, please send contact information, your home country, and your religious affiliation to econrad@siu.edu or call 453-5774 and ask to speak with Elaine.

Mary Wakeland Scholarship Award

The Mary Wakeland Scholarship is offered once each academic year by the International Friends Club (IFC) in memory of Mrs. Mary Wakeland, SIUC’s first foreign student adviser and tireless friend to the international community. Since Mrs. Wakeland was known for her remarkable volunteer service to the international student community at SIUC, this $500 scholarship will be offered to at least one full time SIUC international student in recognition of outstanding volunteer service to the campus and the region. Although there is a minimum grade point average, this scholarship is not based on competitive academic achievement or financial aid. Applications, eligibility requirements, and instructions will be available at the International Students and Scholars office by April 15th. For more information, contact Elaine at econrad@siu.edu or call
453-5774
